At our courses, especially one-week workshops, we enhance on practical education in multidisciplinary and multicultural groups. It is part of the institution’s philosophy.

NIPAI’s vision of theatre directing education may vary from other schools. We base our approach in teaching the directing on a Traditional Russian Theatre School, especially Meyerhold’s approach to directing. At our programs directors and actors, choreographers and dancers, circus directors and circus performers, and other performers are actively engaged in cooperation.

To research and study directing craft without actors or other performers, sitting by the table is possible but not at our school.
Thus, at our workshops, we are creating such conditions, atmosphere, and environment so that student directors could see clearly a work of performer as from outside and from inside.

Student directors will have individual tasks, as well as there will be joint sessions and training to practically investigate such topics as Stanislavski’s “Physical action”, “Psychological Gesture” of M. Chekhov, some elements of Meyerhold’s “Biomechanics” and other.
