The Northern Centre for Voice and Movement (NCVM) is a creative network for skills tutors and theatre-makers based in the North of England, Scotland and Ireland. The North of England, Scotland and Ireland offer excellent actor training programmes which are taught by highly experienced, international teachers. The NCVM, based at ALRA North, will draw upon these connections to develop a creative network that will benefit practitioners and alumni of Conservatoires across these platforms.

The Northern Centre for Voice and Movement will launch on 22nd and 23rd September with two one day workshops from 10am – 5pm at ALRA North, one focusing on voice and one focusing on movement.

Workshop one: Freeing the Natural Voice with Kristin Linklater. This workshop will allow you the opportunity to work with the internationally acclaimed Kristin Linklater. Exploring and deepening your understanding of her freeing the natural voice technique.

Workshop two: Sensing Laban with Sue Mythen. This workshop will allow you the opportunity to work with The Head of Movement at The Lir- Ireland’s National Academy of Dramatic Art. This workshop will allow you to delve into the world of Laban technique for actors and how it relates to your practice.
